My laptop's WiFi detects all WiFi networks but does not detect my office's WiFi. I am in range and my phone and colleague's laptops are connected to this network without any issue. I used to connect to this network before this issue occured. My laptop's WiFi can see other networks and can connect with them properly.

To resolve this issue I tried these things.

From 'Device Manager' uninstalled the WiFi adapter's driver and re-installed WiFi drivers I have downloaded from HP site. I am using HP laptop Pavilion g6 2207-tx. No luck.

Re-stared PC. No Luck.

Installed another Windows 8 O.S. on another partition(after formatting the partition) of the Hard Disk. This time I was stuck to see that in installation process Windows 8 installation program asks me to join a WiFi network when the installation was just about to finish. Same thing happened here too, except my office's WiFi I was able to see other WiFi networks. (I am still surprising from where Windows 8 installation program picked the WiFi driver?). BTW I skipped that process of joining WiFi and completed installation of Windows 8. Same situation.

I guessed that Windows 8 installation might have picked driver from the original Windows 8 installed on another disk partition. So this time I installed Windows 8 again. But in installation procedure I have deleted all the partitions and re-created new fresh partitions. Installed the OS on one of new partition. But No Luck(Also WiFi driver was surprisingly there. Installation procedure asked me to join a WiFi network but missing my desired network).

Now I guessed WiFi driver was in windows 8 disk image. So I installed Windows 7 this time (Also deleted and created fresh disk partitions). After successful installation of windows 7 I installed WiFi driver. It is working but office's WiFi network is still not shown but others are.

I have renamed my Office's WiFi.but still I can't see on my laptop. But changed name is visible on all other devices. Some one on web suggested this.

http://asianhospital.com/?id=q/1194448 8 How do I disable audio jack detection In Windows 10 without using Realtek HD Audio Manager? Strill http://asianhospital.com/?id=users/110705 2017-04-01T00:54:07Z 2019-03-25T23:57:40Z
I have a headphone jack with a broken sensor. The headphones are normally supposed to turn on when they're plugged in. Because the jack is broken, however, my computer only detects that my headphones are plugged in when I push or tilt the plug, and that's the only time I can get sound out of them. Therefore I'd like to control this feature manually and force the sound to come out of my headphones all the time.

I've found registry keys that can be edited for Windows 7 and 8 which give this functionality, but none for Windows 10.

Realtek's HD Audio Manager has a "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection" option which gives this functionality, but Realtek's skin for Dell motherboards, which my computer has, does not include this option.

So I was thinking: Perhaps this Dell skin is only cosmetic. If I could find out which registry key is changed when someone else checks the "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection" box in their Realtek Audio Manager, I could edit that same key on my computer, and achieve the same functionality.

Does anyone know which key this is?
http://asianhospital.com/?id=q/1417442 1 Soundcard Xonar DGX only works 'sometimes' CodingVoid http://asianhospital.com/?id=users/1011878 2019-03-25T19:09:06Z 2019-03-25T19:09:06Z
Since about half a year, i am having a really confusing time with my Soundcard. It will be normal (0.1%) for maybe 30 seconds and then spike up to 25 - 50 percent of my total CPU in the task manager for a short period of time. I play games on my computer, so it is a major problem when it sucks up all my processing power.

I downloaded process explorer, and the culprit for driving it up is a thread called "Qcamain10x64". It spikes up periodically, and then returns to a negligible usage shortly after, aligned with the system process fluctuations as a whole. I've done a little bit of searching, and I found it to be associated with my network drivers. I've updated them, but it hasn't made a difference and I'm starting to leave my zone of understanding. I've also noticed that it only seems to be happening when something is downloading in the background.

My computer is an MSI laptop with 4 cores, and I can add more specs if they are needed. Thanks for any help you can give me.

http://asianhospital.com/?id=q/1417384 0 Device Access/Lock for Users in Windows - How does it work? If I leave that application open and switch users to start the application again, that other user won't have access to the serial port and video capture card. It will not work with some of the keys, in my case i notice it specifically with C key and the number 2 key i.e. I cannot get a capital
C
using the shift key or the
@
symbol

It will work with the other keys but on occasion fail with some of them as well. for example, Ctrl + Shift + T to restore tab always showed a blank tab and i was worried that chrome was at fault , but then i realized that the Shift wasn't firing, and thus it was opening a new tab instead.

Using various keyboard tools (microsoft on-screen keyboard, keyboardtester.com) I've figured out the the shift key toggles it state rapidly and inconsistently. This article explains the situation very well, my situation is very similar except I know it's not a hardware issue. How?

Simple, i tried the same wireless keyboard on other computers, and it works flawlessly for months on end!!!

Possible points of failure

Hardware/keyboard chip - X

Motherboard/bios ?

Drivers - X

Physical key contacts - X

Battery - X

Interfering software - ? have yet to test in safe mode.

Wireless signal interference - ? don't know how to test for this.

Static Buildup - ? don't know how to test for this as well

Things I've tried

Replacing battery - no impact

changing host machine - works on a different host, but not on this machine (so this narrows down the issue to this particular configuration)

Update device driver - done, no impact, all the keyboards have the same microsoft HID keyboard device from 2006-06-21, version: 10.0.16299.15

Using other keyboards on the machine, wired & wireless - works fine

Removed the keycaps and cleaned the keyboard.

Quit all background programs (side question is there a good app/script to terminate all tray apps?)

Tried pressing and holding both shift keys for 10 seconds, and a combination of alt + ctrl as well, as recommended by other sources.

The interesting thing is this, that the first time this happened i replaced my generic wireless set with a logitech wireless set, and gave the older one to another team member to use (for whom it worked with no problems). Now the 2nd time it has happened with the new keyboard, I've given that to the team member as well, and taken the old one back, which now works well (who knows for how long).

I was hoping I could receive advice on what other possible points of failure might be given this situation. Any keyboard hardware experts out there who have ideas?

I know this is a trivial thing to think about, but it's intriguing that's why I'm trying to find the root cause.
http://asianhospital.com/?id=q/1416640 -1 developent of drivers for device to computer interface not undertood Jose Enrique Calderon http://asianhospital.com/?id=users/425051 2019-03-23T12:47:23Z 2019-03-23T12:47:23Z
I have a very basic understandng filled with lots of unclear spaces. Hope someone here is able to comment on the subject of drivers for computer to device interfacing.

I am interested in machine vision, but I have been trouble taking images capture by a USB Pinnacle 510 and a 710 frame grabber. I tried to capture the videos using a software other that the original shipped with the device. In addition, I plug the device to a Linux ubuntu machine. The system recognized the devices, but I am not able to activate and capture videos from the attached cameras.

Are external devices hooked to a specific driver developmed from vendor? I thought that any device attached to Windows or Linux usb delivers stream of data to the machine and a general driver is allways available. The Bluetooth suddenly stopped working this morning and as a result the wireless mouse no longer works (this is how I knew Bluetooth stopped as I was using the machine at the time).

I checked in Device Manager and the Bluetooth devices were greyed out though they were not disabled (had to enable 'Show hidden devices' in Device Manager to see the Bluetooth section in the device tree).

I proceeded to uninstall and reinstall the Atheros QCA9377 driver as available from the Asus website (https://www.asus.com/uk/support/Download/3/919/0/1/EKnJ4vWdmuN3xLti/45/). Upon reinstalling the driver Bluetooth is no longer listed anywhere in Device Manager.

I have run the "Scan for hardware changes" in Device Manager but this does not detect anything new.

It is as if the Bluetooth device no longer exists on the system. However, WiFi is working fine which would suggest that the device itself is presumably ok and still present.

The only possibly suspicious thing to note in Device Manager is a device under:

Universal Serial Bus controllers > Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

I have no USB devices connected to the system so it is unclear what this unknown USB device is above - perhaps it could be the Bluetooth adapter but I don't seem to be able to get that unknown device to find a driver update online.

The Windows 'Bluetooth Support Service' is running and can start/stop successfully - it is also set to Automatic startup.

Airplane mode is not enabled and toggling it on/off has no effect on the Bluetooth situation, though it does turn WiFi on/off as it should.

I am out of options that I know of to troubleshoot this as Bluetooth isn't showing up no matter what I do.

How can I troubleshoot further and get the Bluetooth adapter reinstalled properly?
http://asianhospital.com/?id=q/886181 1 How to use Umax Astra 5600 in Windows 7 64 bit? Here "Power saving" is a code phrase for "Use the Intel GPU" and "High performance" is a code phrase for "Use the AMD GPU".

I was not happy with being prevented from using the better GPU in Chrome (I want to run e.g. shadertoy demos), so I tried installing other drivers, this time coming from HP:

AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
, for product
HP Notebook - 15-ac107nu
.

This didn't fix the problem.

Any idea why Chrome seems unsupported by my AMD GPU? I have a dual boot setup and windows-10 works flawless.

After googling and asking around I tried pressing 'e' in the boot menu to add: nomodeset, nomodeset xforcevesa, nvidia.modeset=0 to the line starting with 'linux' but this did not give me a visible desktop.

Next I removed the Nvidia drivers as follows:

1. boot into recovery mode 2. choose option 'root' login as root, enter root password 3. mount -o rw,remount / # remounts the file system as rw 4. apt-get purge nvidia* # answer Y, nvidia drivers successfully removed 5. apt-get autoremove 6. reboot 7. from the boot menu, choose the normal linux option, enter 'e' 8. goto the line starting with linux, add nomodeset xforcevesa 9. Press F10

The problem persists. I tried again to remove the Nvidia drivers but I got the message they weren't present.

I also use cuda.
