This issue is occurring in both Firefox 27.0.1 and IE11.

The website I'm trying to view does usually partially load but will not completely load. The spinner in the tab shows there is activity and clicking links does not work. In Firefox I see at the bottom the page
Transferring data for
(IE doesn't show this though).

I use Firebug so have investigated the issue in Firefox with that, and it seems one of two things is happening -

Not all scripts/styles are loading and never do.

All of scripts/styles/image/etc are loading but the HTML Response for the page I'm trying to view is truncated, with only a portion of the page making it to the browser.

I initially tried the obvious things -

Firefox -> History -> Clear Recent History...

Browsing and Download History

Form & Search History

Cookies

Cache

Active Logins

Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet options -> (General) -> Delete...

Temporary Internet files and website files

Cookies and website data

History

Disable all anti-virus

This didn't work so I tried reinstalling Firefox (and uninstalling IE11 entirely), but that also didn't work.

This is in a corporate environment where PFSense is used to manage the leased line connection that is being used, so there is no router in play that could be causing a problem. Besides, every other PC is connecting to these websites just fine (this is the only Windows 8/8.1 machine in the business).

I'm also fairly certain that it cannot be the network card as I have been successfully connected to several Terminal Servers since the upgrade without issue.

I'm now at a for what could be causing this, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.
0 Dark theme on Mozilla Firefox won't go away MrCholo 2018-09-21T00:25:30Z 2018-09-21T05:15:54Z
I have Chrome and Firefox on my desktop/laptop and in order to quickly distinguish between which one I am using, I experimented with using a dark theme in Firefox and Chrome. I ended up turning both off, but now on a few web pages when browsing with Firefox the background becomes black and I can't read anything:

I can't figure out what is causing it, I swear I have turned off all the theme and plugins etc related to the color, anyone know what it might be?
0 How to set default web page size in Firefox? SQB 2017-01-31T08:35:43Z 2018-09-20T15:19:44Z
If I login to Wunderlist from a private tab in Firefox, it keeps reloading

over and over. In Chrome, I have no such problem; I can access it from private tab.

Now the first step of the answer to the popular question "why won't Wunderlist load in Firefox?" in Wunderlist's FAQ seems to impy it is by design.

1. Ensure that you are not using Wunderlist in Private Browsing mode

My question is two-fold:

Why was Wunderlist designed to not work in private browsing mode in Firefox?

Is there a known workaround for this, by tweaking the settings for instance?
(Other than using a different browser).

0 "Firefox is already running, but is not responding." even though MOZ_NO_REMOTE=0 iago-lito 2018-09-19T18:36:20Z 2018-09-20T11:35:44Z
This is Debian 9 Stretch speaking,
#1 SMP Debian 4.9.110-3+deb9u4 (2018-08-21)
, with a new, portable installation of Firefox 62.0 run from
/opt
with

$ which firefox /opt/firefox/firefox

My problem is that, even though the command

$ firefox

does launch and run a firefox instance, a subsequent command

$ firefox any.kind/of/url

fails with the famous window message

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. Milliron X 2018-09-19T21:06:11Z 2018-09-19T21:06:11Z
Overall, I like the new Firefox "highlights" feature of the New Tab Page. For most pages that appear there, the first image on the page or a high-res favicon becomes the image on the highlights badge. Accidentally pressing these buttons has been common with every mouse I've owned and has resulted in severe issues with banking websites and job applications. The certificate is in the local cert store on Windows.

Some weeks ago, Firefox stopped trusting the additional certificates and will throw errors at every encrypted page. Everything still works fine in IE and Chrome.

security.enterprise_roots.enabled
is set to true, yet it does not seem to load the certificates.

I tried importing the certs manually, but that doesn't seem to work either - I click import, select the p7b file, and nothing happens - no error message, but the cert also does not show up in the list (or I'm looking in the wrong place).

Browser Console does not show anything suspicious.

Any ideas how to fix this? Is there any way to check if Firefox actually finds the certificates in the Windows store? Should they show up in the Certificate list or in the crypto modules?

I am on Firefox 62.0 64bit on Windows 7.
0 Redirect specific files on webpage load [on hold] H. When I click on a
.mov
file, it goes straight to a grey screen with a video icon, and the message:
Video format or mime type is not supported
. Firefox does not ask what to do with it, even though everything in
settings/applications
is set to
always ask
. How to fix? KlaymenDK 2018-09-18T06:14:58Z 2018-09-18T06:21:18Z
I somehow changed which app is triggered by the "Open Containing Folder" option on downloaded files (as viewed in the download manager), so it now launches the Filelight disk-space-distribution viewer instead of my default file manager (Caja). This is not exactly useful.

How do I fix this? Where exactly is the setting for this app association?

I've tried following the advice from this question about removing Filelight to force Firefox to ask which app to use -- but now it just tries to open files with Audacious (an audio editor)! Re-installing Filelight reverts Firefox to using that again, but I didn't get the "open with" dialog.
0 is it possible and if so, how do i change the size of the firefox/waterfox titlebar/buttons? Jevak 2018-09-18T02:19:51Z 2018-09-18T02:19:51Z
I've been trying to scale the size of the title bar buttons down as they take up too much space imo. Videos and audio suddenly take longer to load, and then proceed to play silently, or not at all on some sites.

My browsers are up-to-date, it's not muted in mixer, I've cleared my cache, and I've made sure that "Play sound in webpages" is enabled in internet properties. I haven't made any recent changes beyond making Firefox my default browser. Restarting the browser doesn't fix it, I have to restart the computer.

I've found that I could prevent this by having audio play endlessly in a tab and just mute the tab if I want to do something else, but if it's not the first thing I do I'm stuck restarting to fix it.
80 How to block Hot Network Questions in the sidebar of Stack Exchange network?
